Miles has to step up not just as a hero, but as a friend trying to pull Peter back from the edge. Traversal is a huge upgrade over the previous games. You can now pull out web-wings from your suit to glide between skyscrapers, letting you cross the newly added boroughs of Brooklyn and Queens in seconds. Wind tunnels scattered across the map give you massive speed boosts if you time your glides right. Combat encounters flow seamlessly between the two protagonists during specific missions, and you can switch between Peter and Miles freely while exploring the open world to tackle side crimes and district activities. Every web-swing and heavy impact utilizes the DualSense controller's adaptive triggers and haptic feedback to ground you in the movement. You feel the tension of the webs pulling against your fingers and the crunch of concrete when you smash down into a group of enemies. It is easily one of the best-looking games on the system, running at a smooth sixty frames per second with ray tracing active so the puddles and glass reflections look incredible while you dive bomb through the city.
